The Peace Council convened a virtual protest meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday to protest the Israeli attack, according to a press release.
The statement said that the Israeli armed forces' attacks on innocent civilians in Palestine have reached alarming proportions. More than 137 innocent Palestinians have been killed in the past few days. Women and children were not spared the attack.
The Peace Council called on the United Nations and the international community to take strong action to stop the attack, calling it a "heinous crime against humanity."
In support of the Palestinian national liberation struggle, the Peace Council also called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
